And what a glorious last stand for Peter Capaldi it is!
Let’s get right too it. This is the best episode of the season and for me the best of Peter Capaldi’s run. Capaldi commands every iota of screen time given to him. This version of the Doctor has even learned how to stave off his regeneration so he can save the day.
Episode 11 of 12
Here we go! The two part finale of the season is here! Mondasian Cybermen are back. Be afraid, be very afraid. Plus a black hole with a gigantic spaceship trapped in a gravity well. Could this episode pack any more in? Well, thanks for asking…yes!
The Doctor (Peter Capaldi), Bill (Pearl Mackie) and Nardole (Matt Lucas) dive into the disappearance of the lost Ninth Roman Legion. Turns out Bill is a history buff who thinks the lost Romans marched away in 2nd century Scotland.
God Save the Queen!
That’s what The Doctor, Bill, and Nardole find hidden on the Mar’s surface when they pop into NASA on a whim. And just like that our favorite Time Lord and friends are off on an adventure to Mars!
The exciting thing about “Extremis” is while the wonderful chemistry of The Doctor (Peter Capaldi) and Bill (Pearl Mackie) is still magical, The Doctor gets to shine in this episode.
“What if you’re wrong?”
“Well, we’ll be horribly murdered?”
There is so much story and great content “Oxygen” could have easily been a two-parter.
No duds here
Wow! Four episodes into the season and thanks to great writing and the Doctor’s new companion Bill, a flawless season. Knock Knock is pretty close to the best haunted/creepy story since Blink. You’re in for a real treat with this tale.
Back in the days of the spinner racks at drug stores you would find a sampling of titles from Marvel, DC, and more. This was before comic book stores (or at least my knowledge of them) and there was a certain joy of trying out different comic books. One of the titles that really spurned my interest was What If?
